The Challenges
Often, when someone hands out physical business cards at conferences, people get confused about what to do with them. Some put them inside their pockets to refer back to later, while others may even throw them away without taking action.
Realizing these challenges, the client planned to develop an app to help salespeople create and share NFC digital business cards that prospects can save on their phones to refer to later. They wanted the app to have AI capabilities that identify high-quality leads.
To this end, the client approached Capital Numbers to create a digital business card solution from scratch. The client already had a digital business card solution built. However, multiple coding issues led to the solution's malfunctioning. So, they wanted to migrate all existing data to a new application solution and embed AI capabilities in it.
The client was quite specific about how they wanted to build the AI-powered app. For example, they wanted the following in the app:
- AI-driven tools to find information about qualified leads
- Analytical solutions to track the behaviors of qualified leads
- Infrastructure scalability to store increasing lead count
- A robust database to retrieve vast lead data
- Shortcut buttons to encourage qualified leads to connect
- Editable fields to update leads about business card information
We had to ensure every implementation was done precisely as per needs. Plus, we had to move data from the client’s existing setup to the new one without disrupting any information.
Solutions We Offered
We began the work using the following techs:
For the backend of the digital business card solution, we chose Laravel as it provides scalability options to handle increasing data about potential leads. For the frontend, we chose Vanilla.js because it is lightweight.
We also incorporated editable fields to enable business card edits and updates. Plus, we used JavaScript, HTML, and Tailwind CSS to include CTA buttons like ‘Save Contact’ and ‘Message’ to encourage quick actions from high-quality leads.
Next, we prioritized implementing AI capabilities to extract business information about high-potential leads. Our experts used Humantics AI to cater to this need. We chose Humantics AI because it uses Machine Learning algorithms to extract leads with the highest conversion potential. So, this AI in the business card solution would analyze lead behavior as soon as leads tap their phones on NFC tags to extract business card information. The AI would then track downloads and movements of potential leads and predict if they are likely to convert.
Next, we highlighted the NFC taps, business website link clicks, profile views, and contact exchanges using Chart.js. We presented graphical data day-wise, week-wise, and month-wise to show salespeople how frequently prospects viewed their digital business cards.
We then evaluated the existing database size. After evaluation, we devised a migration plan and moved existing data to the new setup without disruption. We chose MySQL to handle the increasing database size and store the ever-increasing lead count.
Additionally, we made a few other integrations in the app, using LinkedIn for professional networking and Twilio for messaging. Once the application was done and ready, we hosted it on AWS.
