Capital Numbers Participates in “Run for Education”

On Nov 26, Capital Numbers participated in “Run for Education,” a charity fundraising sports event. Like the name implies, the event invited people and organizations to compete in a race, and the proceeds went to further education in underprivileged areas.

About eighty people from Capital Numbers participated…and we were excited to receive the “Most Vibrant Corporate” award!

About “Run For Education”

According to the official website:

“The inception year witnessed ardent participation from various walks of life, like corporate, students, families and more. The event brought enthusiastic professional and novice runners on one platform defining the true spirit of humanity and sportsmanship and generating awareness for education and fitness for all.”

This initiative was first undertaken by Round Table India (RTI) in 2014 and has since grown in size and scope. RTI, a young men’s club for professionals, seeks to serve the community by building infrastructure for the education of underprivileged children.

At Capital Numbers, we were excited to help this initiative. We believe that a strong mind and a strong body are two parts of the same ideal. By participating in an event that encourages better education and better health, we can help children reach a brighter future.

As a nation, India has made leaps and bounds in the education sector, partially due to the efforts of organizations like RTI and Run For Education. We are also personally grateful for the opportunity to directly make an impact in this area, by sponsoring a small orphanage that helps children attain education. However, there is still work to be done in certain portions of our society.

For this reason, we were proud to participate in the run. Further, we were happy to receive the “Most Vibrant Corporate” award, because it accurately represents the spirit of our company. Distance running is a worthwhile, yet difficult undertaking, and we were very proud to be the group that did so with a cheerful, positive attitude.

Contributions platformed by RTI and Run For Education may seem small in the grand scheme of things, but over time, consistent efforts add up. Not only does the money go to support education infrastructure, the event itself can serve as a platform from which to raise awareness for our goals.

It’s our hope that as this event grows, and more people and corporates decide to participate, we can continue to take drastic steps forward to improve education for all areas of India. Even if progress is initially slow, ten or twenty years in the future, we will look back proudly at the contributions we’ve made.
